After finishing second in the British Grand Prix behind his team-mate Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri was visibly angry as he took off his helmet due to receiving a 10-second penalty for erratic braking behind the safety car. During the race at Silverstone, on lap 21 behind the safety car, Piastri slammed the brakes on the Hangar Straight, surprising Max Verstappen, who had to swerve to avoid a collision. Verstappen radioed his team about the incident, which led to Piastri being penalized. In a post-race interview with Jenson Button, Piastri expressed his frustration but acknowledged Nico Hulkenberg’s performance. Despite dominating the race earlier, Piastri’s penalty allowed Norris to secure the victory. The points gap between Norris and Piastri has now narrowed, with just eight points separating them.
